Applying
The
Pickup |
Because of the steel
drums curved surfaces, two-step epoxy glue must be used
to attach the pickup discs. Before permanently affixing the
pickup discs, attach them with gaffers tape with the metal
side against the steel drums surface. Once you find optimum
locations, use a quick-setting epoxy to attach the pickup discs.
Keep the discs held firmly against the metal surface by using
gaffers tape until the glue is dry. |
| Jack |
The jacks are taped to the inside of the drum with a self-adhesive
dual-lock hook-and-loop strip in such a way that they cant
easily be seen, but are quickly accessed. The outputs from
multiple TWIN SoundSpot Classic pickups can be connected in
parallel for use with a single amp, or they can be plugged
into multiple channels for blending. Note: Dont connect
more than 11 or 12 pickups together if you are combining their
signals.

| Usage Tips |
Using both outputs from
one or more steel drums simultaneously allows you to create
spacious stereo images. For P.A. and recording applications, a high-quality direct box such as as the D-TAR Solstice or Equinox is suggested.
