Applying
The
Pickup |
Find a place on the drums head and attach the metal
side of the pickup to it using a piece of gaffers tape.
This is a temporary approach, and you should experiment with
a couple of different locations to get the best tone and greatest
resistance to feedback (moving the pickup closer to the center
of the head increases the potential for feedback). Firmly
press the tape around the pickup for best contact. After locating
the optimum position, you can attach the pickup with a piece
of double-stick adhesive tape. For heads covered with rough
fur, youll have to smooth the area where the pickup
is to be attached; use a piece of fine sandpaper.
|
| Jack |
The 1/4" jack is
attached to the drums side with a special adhesive jack
clip. If you use numerous drums, the pickups can be wired in
parallel to one output jack, or run into separate channels of
a mixer. |
| Usage Tips |
To achieve a balanced
sound, increase the bass and decrease the treble on your amp
or P.A. Refer to the congas usage tips for further applications. For P.A. and recording applications, a high-quality direct box such as as the D-TAR Solstice or Equinox is suggested. |
